CSI: Crime Scene Investigation took television by storm in 2000 with its innovative and cutting-edge updating of a standard series concept – in this case, the cop show. Suddenly, instead of simply whodunit, solving crimes was a matter of howdunit, and with what size shoe, and whether anyone left behind traces of evidence that the blue ALS light could pick up.
Based on Jeff Lindsay’s novels Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter this crime thriller follows Dexter Morgan. Dexter is a forensic blood spatter expert for the Miami Dade Police Department. He is the main support for his sister. He has a steady girlfriend, with two kids who adore him. He also has an active “night life”. Based on a code instilled in him by his foster father, Harry, he hunts down people who have escaped justice and makes sure they don’t get away with a crime again.
Based on the popular book series of the same name, this drama gives viewers a peek into the world of privileged teenagers on an elite private school in New York City. The story is written by The O.C.’s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and directed by Mark Piznarski who has worked on series like Everwood and Veronica Mars.
Surface’s Leighton Meester and Accepted’s Blake Lively have taken the lead roles in this drama series. They will play Blair and Serena respectively, rich Manhattan rivals at a private school in New York. The last additions to this new CW drama are Misconceptions Taylor Momsen, The Covenant’s Chace Crawford and The Bedford Diaries’s Penn Badgley. Their characters are Momsen as Jenny a 14 year-old and shy girl, Nate the good looking boyfriend of Blair, and Dan the secret admirer of Serena.
E-Ring’s Kelly Rutherford and The Jury’s has been cast as the mother of lead role Serena. Rutherford will play the mother of Serena van der Woodsen (Lively’s character), a former ballerina and rock groupie. Afterlife’s Ed Westwick has been cast as Chuck Bass and Brothers and Sisters‘ Matthew Settle has been cast as Jenny and Dan’s father, Rufus Humphrey.
A mysterious teenager is found disoriented in the middle of traffic. Kyle, as he is later named, lacks a navel and has no recollection of his past. Taken in by the Trager family, Kyle discovers that he has extraordinary abilities.
Season 1: Kyle realises that he has abilities that no normal human shares. With the help of the Trager family and his new friends, he tries to find out who he is, where he came from, and why he woke up in the middle of the forest with no knowledge of the world.
Season 2: After discovering his origins, Kyle learns that he has a counterpart. Her name is Jessi, and together they try to harness their abilities and find out more about the mysteries surrounding their creation, and all the while balancing their school and family lives.
Betty Suarez has always had one goal in life: to make it into the publishing business. Despite being smart, hard-working, and productive, her dream has always been shadowed by the fact that she isn’t the best looking young woman. However, she is now determined to do whatever it takes to fulfill that ultimate dream.
Ugly Betty stars America Ferrera in the title role. The show is based on the wildly popular Colombian telenovela which has already been successfully translated in Mexico, India, Russia, Greece and Germany - all to stellar ratings.
